  • DESCRIPTION:

    The Nassau BOCES Adult Career and Technical Education (CTE) program provides industry aligned career training and experiences to empower adults by assisting them with acquiring the employable skills necessary to assimilate into the 21st century workforce. The CTE program is seeking a part-time instructor to teach adults in our Adult Evening Barbering Technician Program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Instruct students in accordance with New York State licensing requirements for the barber license.
    • Encourage a positive, professional learning environment.
    • Maintain classroom cleanliness and enforce safety protocols.
    • Monitor students’ progress and provide ongoing feedback and support.
    • Prepare and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum goals.
    • Deliver engaging hands-on training in the following areas: safety, sanitation, shaving, hair cutting, reception and sales techniques.

    This part-time instructional position is four nights per week from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Adult Career and Technical Education Center in Westbury, NY.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Valid New York State Barber License.
    • Industry related experience.
    • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Previous teaching experience is preferred.

    SALARY: As per salary schedule.
