Job summary

Sinai Chicago is seeking a licensed or license-eligible psychotherapist to provide therapy to individuals, families and groups, using cognitive, behavioral, psychodynamic, or interpersonal models. You will document services for billing, supervise learners, and mentor junior staff.

This role emphasizes outreach and coordination with internal teams to ensure holistic care, with opportunities to contribute to program development and community resources.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant behavioral health field with license eligibility.
  • Licensure eligible for LCSW, LSW, LPC, LCPC, or LMFT preferred.
  • Experience with clinical supervision is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts psychotherapeutic and other clinical treatment sessions for individuals, families, and groups.
  • Completes all required case records and statistical reporting documentation within specified time frames.
  • Conducts home visits when clinically appropriate.
  • Provides direct service for 70% of work hours.
  • Facilitates consultation and outreach to assure holistic treatment.
  • Documents all services provided in a timely manner.
  • Participates in ongoing community resource development.
  • Monitors treatment plan service delivery as it relates to internal service providers.
  • Performs evaluation for suicide, violence, and case management needs.
  • Advocates for and with patients and families in utilizing resources and services.
  • Engages patients therapeutically to help them learn healthy interpersonal skills, grooming and teamwork.
  • Performs individual psychotherapy based on identified models (cognitive, behavioral, psychodynamic, interpersonal, or other).
  • Conducts crisis therapy, family therapy, and group psychotherapy.
  • Conducts clinical supervision.

Job description

Position Purpose

The Psychotherapist is responsible for providing psychotherapy and other treatment services that affirm clients' strengths, broaden their problem-solving abilities, and increase their self-knowledge. The therapist is also responsible to ensure that appropriate documentation is completed that is required for billing and coding, and acts as a mentor and leader to newer staff and master's level students.

Education and Work Experience
  • Master's degree in social work, Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Marital Family Therapy, or related behavioral health program that is a license eligible degree required. sinaichicago.org
Knowledge and Skills
  • Possesses exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Must be culturally competent.
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Experience in EPIC and MEDITECH software systems preferred.

Certifications/Licenses
  • LCSW, LSW, LPC, or LCPC or LMFT preferred.
