Position

Psychometrician & Research Intern, Classroom Assessment

Position Summary

The Psychometrician & Research Intern will contribute to research activities supporting Pearson’s classroom formative assessment system, Navvy. This internship provides the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in educational measurement and applied research, with a focus on advancing student learning outcomes through efficacy studies and evaluation of implementation practices.

Responsibilities
  • Support the design and execution of efficacy and evaluation studies, including research aligned with ESSA evidence tiers and What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) standards.

  • Assist in documenting and analyzing implementation fidelity, and contribute to refinement of theory of change models.

  • Collaborate with researchers, psychometricians, and product teams to maintain research documentation and reporting.

  • Contribute to written summaries, presentations, and project updates for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications
  • Current enrollment in a Ph.D. program in Educational Measurement, Psychometrics, Quantitative Psychology, Statistics, or a closely related field.

  • Familiarity with research methods and data analysis; experience with statistical software such as R, SAS, or SPSS is a plus.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Interest in efficacy research, educational assessment, and the application of measurement to improve student learning.

Internship Details

This is a part-time, temporary internship with flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments.
