The Instructional Support Specialist (ISS) for Psychology at Augusta Technical College works in the Success Center to provide tutoring and academic support for students. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Master’s degree in the subject area (preferred).
  • Experience with tutoring and/or supplemental instruction is valued.
  • Experience working with diverse populations in higher education programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic support to students in the Success Center.
  • Address students’ educational concerns using strategic learning methods.
  • Prepare appropriate teaching materials matched to student needs.
  • Maintain a positive attitude to encourage learning and monitor progress.
  • Provide progress reports and updates as required.
  • Use center monitoring software to track utilization of services.
  • Complete annual professional development activities.
  • Perform basic administrative duties for the Success Center.
  • Work a schedule that includes morning, noon, and/or evening shifts.
