Central Virginia Community College is located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. CVCC is a comprehensive two-year institution of higher education with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students in occupational/technical programs and university-parallel/college transfer programs.
Teach up to 12 credit hours of in-person or online psychology classes per academic semester. Teaching assignments may include classes on the main campus as well as at our off-site centers and may include classes with dual-enrolled students in Early College programs, the CTE Academy, and/or the Governor’s STEM Academy. Position longevity depends on sufficient funding, enrollment, and performance.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Minimum of a master’s degree in psychology or a master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in psychology. Proficiency in and willingness to incorporate new and emerging pedagogies in the classroom.
Must demonstrate effective and engaging teaching skills, both in person and online. Must have the ability to work effectively with a culturally and educationally diverse student population.
Prior teaching experience in the community college environment along with teaching of dual-enrolled students.
