An established educational institution is seeking a Medical Professional Expert to provide specialized mental health services. Under general supervision, the Medical Professional Expert provides assistance and support based on assignments and supervisor instructions. These experts:
Non-academic, non-classified Professional Experts are not part of the classified service. Short-term employees are at-will and hold no entitlement rights. Employment will not displace Classified personnel.
*Retired CalPERS Annuitants: may work up to 960 hours annually (July 1 - June 30).
Provide personal therapy, crisis counseling, clinical supervision to interns, wellness activities, faculty/staff mental health training, and student outreach. Marriage and family therapists (Licensed Mental Health Counselors) require at least a master's degree. Clinical psychologists need doctoral degrees (PsyD or PhD). Both roles provide therapy.
This is a temporary, short-term position with employment terms arranged with the supervisor. The recruitment creates a candidate pool for as-needed assignments, valid for one year. Selected candidates will be contacted for interviews; please do not call HR regarding application status.
Employment is contingent upon background checks, verification, work eligibility, and approval by the Board. Regular attendance is essential.
