PSYCHOLOGISTS (Clinical Faculty - Telemedicine)

The Louis A. Faillace, MD, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston offers opportunities for mental health professionals to develop an academic career in Psychiatry.

Telepsychologists:

We are recruiting for multiple faculty positions in our Telemedicine Program. Faculty members use televideo technology from home or local offices to provide psychological services to inpatient facilities throughout Texas. This is a remote position with minimal travel required. All necessary equipment and technical support will be provided.

Selected candidates will provide clinical and forensic psychological services, including trial competency evaluations (TCE) and violence risk assessments, in accordance with hospital bylaws, SSLC policy, Texas Administrative Code, and applicable laws. They will also consult with recovery and interdisciplinary treatment teams for individualized treatment and competency restoration, and provide court testimony for TCEs and other forensic services as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Psy.D. or Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Psychology from an APA-accredited program
  • Licensed or eligible for license by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
