Job description

Join to apply for the Psychologist - Remote role at Loyal Source Government Services.

The psychologist performs Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) for veterans when they file disability claims for mental health conditions (e.g., PTSD, Depression, Anxiety) through the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) as part of the Compensation and Pension Program. These comprehensive mental health exams involve assessments and medical opinions but do not include treatment.

Key Roles

1. Standard outpatient assessments/evaluations
2. Psychological / Neuropsychological Testing service requests
3. Participate in peer consultations, staff meetings, and trainings; responsible for entering determinations within VA guidelines; perform other duties as required
4. Conduct non-MD clinical reviews, including requests for psychological or neuropsychological testing

Responsibilities

1. Perform comprehensive mental health examinations (MDE) for PTSD, Depression, MST (Military Sexual Trauma), Anxiety, Eating Disorders
2. Write medical opinions as a subject matter expert for mental health claims
3. Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and VA rules
4. Note: C&P mental health exams are one-time, no treatment exams

Required Qualifications

1. Licensed doctoral-level (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) Psychologist with current, unrestricted license allowing independent practice
2. At least 2+ years of post-licensure experience
3. Proficiency with Windows OS, Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel
4. Dedicated secure workspace and high-speed internet access at home
5. Graduated from an APA-accredited school or doctoral program

Preferred Requirements

1. Experience in performing C&P exams (training provided if not)
2. Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP)
3. ASPPB Certificate of Professional Qualification (CPQ)
4. Experience in managed care, peer reviews, working with commercial, Medicaid, Medicare
5. Knowledge of CPT and HCPCS codes
6. Experience with higher levels of care, children, adolescents, substance abuse, evidence-based treatments
7. Advanced computer skills, organizational and communication skills, ability to work independently and in a team, adaptability to fast-paced environments

Pay: $55/hr.
