Psychologist (Remote)

The psychologist performs Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) for veterans when they file disability claims for mental health conditions (e.g., PTSD, Depression, Anxiety) through the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) as part of the Compensation and Pension Program. These comprehensive mental health exams include assessments and medical opinions, but no treatment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct outpatient assessments/evaluations
• Provide psychological/neuropsychological testing services
• Participate in peer consultations, staff meetings, and training sessions
• Enter determinations within VA guidelines
• Perform non-MD clinical reviews, including requests for testing

Responsibilities

• Perform mental health examinations (e.g., PTSD, Depression, MST, Anxiety, Eating Disorders)
• Write medical opinions for mental health claims
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and VA rules
• Note: C&P mental health exams are one-time, no-treatment assessments

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensed doctoral-level (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) Psychologist with current, unrestricted license
• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience
• Proficiency with Windows OS, Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel
• Dedicated secure workspace with high-speed internet access
• Graduated from an APA-accredited doctoral program

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience performing C&P exams (training provided)
• Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP)
• American Society for Psychological and Neuropsychological Testing (ASPPB) Certification (CPQ)
• Experience in managed care, peer reviews, and billing codes (CPT, HCPCS)
• Clinical experience with children, adolescents, substance abuse, and evidence-based treatments
• Advanced computer skills, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Compensation

Pay: $68.11 + $4.93 per hour for H&W
