Job Summary

The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Developmental Pediatricsat the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking afull-time faculty member. This position will be at our Children'sHospital Colorado location at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Auroraand/or System of Care sites. Developmental Pediatrics provides apeople-first, strength-based, neurodiverse affirming approach todevelopmental assessment, management, and intervention for childrenand youth with a wide array of developmental and behavioralchallenges. Developmental Pediatrics is part of the NeuroscienceInstitute at Children's Hospital Colorado, which also includesChild Neurology and Neurosurgery. Clinicians in DevelopmentalPediatrics also work closely with Child Psychiatry, Genetics,Rehabilitation Medicine, Neurology, and Special Care Clinic, withample collaborative opportunities.

The Psychologist will provide neurodevelopmental evaluations,clinical behavioral assessment and intervention for children withdevelopmental behavioral conditions including but not limited toAutism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, neurogeneticconditions, and developmental behavioral disabilities. In additionto clinical excellence, faculty is expected to demonstrate skillsand efforts in the areas of clinical consultation,research/scholarship, consultation, and training related todevelopmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provision of direct clinical services to children withneurodevelopmental and developmental-behavioral conditions,including psychological and behavioural interventions utilizingevidence-based individual and group treatment modalities, includingABA-informed approaches as appropriate.
• Conduct individual and, when appropriate, interdisciplinaryassessments addressing developmental, behavioral, and adaptivefunctioning concerns.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with multidisciplinaryteams, including physicians, advanced practice providers,psychologists, social workers, and allied health professional toinform diagnostic conceptualization, intervention planning, andcontinuity of care.
• Participate actively in the education and training ofpsychology externs, interns, or psychology postdoctoral fellows, aswell as medical students, residents, and fellows. Trainingactivities may include clinical supervision, case consultation, anddidactic teaching.
• Contribute to program development and clinical innovationwithin Developmental Pediatrics and affiliated programs, includingparticipation in quality improvement initiatives and the refinementof clinical pathways and service models.
• Demonstrate scholarly interest and activity consistent with anacademic medical center appointment. Scholarly contributions mayinclude clinical research, program evaluation, program developmentof evidence-based interventions, literature reviews, disseminationof findings, and participation in the development of clinicalguidelines or educational materials related to developmental andbehavioral conditions.

Work Location

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite at the AnschutzMedical Center, Aurora, CO, or one of the other DevelopmentalPediatrics Network of Care locations.

Assistant Professor

• Candidates must be eligible for licensure, or a licensedpsychologist in Colorado.
• Graduate of an accredited Clinical, Counseling or SchoolPsychology program or the equivalent.
• Graduate of an APA accredited psychology internship.
• Postdoctoral Fellowship in Developmental Disabilities or theequivalent.

Associate Professor

• Candidates must be eligible for licensure, or a licensedpsychologist in Colorado.
• Graduate of an accredited Clinical, Counseling or SchoolPsychology program or the equivalent.
• Graduate of an APA accredited psychology internship.
• Postdoctoral Fellowship in Developmental Disabilities or theequivalent.
• Experience: Typically 4-7+ years of post-licensure clinicalexperience in pediatric/developmental settings (orequivalent).
• Clinical Leadership: Demonstrated progressively independentpractice and programmatic contributions.

Professor

• Candidates must be eligible for licensure, or a licensedpsychologist in Colorado.
• Graduate of an accredited Clinical, Counseling or SchoolPsychology program or the equivalent.
• Graduate of an APA accredited psychology internship.
• Postdoctoral Fellowship in Developmental Disabilities or theequivalent.
• Experience: Typically 7–10+ years post-licensure with recognizedexpertise in developmental disabilities.
• Clinical Leadership & Innovation: Sustained leadership ofservice lines, new program development, or system-level qualityinitiatives with documented outcomes
• Teaching & Mentorship: Substantial and sustainedteaching/mentorship
• Scholarly/Academic Impact: Nationalreputation demonstrated by senior/lead authorship, practiceguidelines, invited keynotes, PI/co-PI roles, orequivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Two (2) or more years of post-graduateclinical experience working with children with neurodevelopmentaldisabilities in medical, specialty care, or interdisciplinarysettings.
• Board Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis (BCBA orBCBA-D).
• Experience providing caregiver-mediated interventions, parenttraining, and consultation to medical and educational teams.
• Teaching, supervision, or mentorship experience with psychologytrainees, medical learners, or interdisciplinaryprofessionals.
• Record of scholarly activity, quality improvement, programdevelopment, or clinical innovation relevant to psychology, ABA, ordevelopmental-behavioral health.
• Experience navigating healthcare documentation, regulatoryrequirements, and ethical considerations related to ABA andpsychological services in pediatric medical settings.
• A history of academic or scholarly activity and interest relatedto the field of clinical psychology and neurodevelopmentalconditions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrated expertise in AppliedBehavioral Analysis (ABA)-informed assessment and interventionmodels delivered within healthcare-based or specialty clinicsettings (e.g., Developmental Pediatrics, Autismprograms).
• Proficiency with standardized psychological, developmental, andadaptive behavior assessment instruments commonly used in pediatricpopulations.
• Demonstrable familiarity with a range of developmental behavioralconditions.
• Demonstrated commitment to advancing access to care for childrenwith developmental disabilities and their families.
• Familiarity and expertise with intervention and assessmentprocesses and/or instruments used with children and adolescentswith developmental disabilities.

• The ability to provide thoughtfully planned evidence-basedintervention for children, adolescents and/or their families withdevelopmental behavioral conditions.
• The ability to embrace and help to sustain a vibrant, positiveteam environment with respect for providers, support staff,patients, and their families.

Anticipated Pay Range

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for thisposition has been established as HIRING RANGE:

• Assistant Professor: $110,000- $125,000
• Associate Professor: $134,000- $154,000
• Professor: $185,000- $239,000

The above hiring range represents the University's good faith andreasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at thetime of posting. This position is not eligible for overtimecompensation unless it is non-exempt.
