Base pay range

$100,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr

Psychologist Position Summary

Under the guidance of the Regional Mental Health Director and Chief Psychologist, the Psychologists will:

• Provide intensive evidence-based individual and/or group therapy and crisis intervention for incarcerated individuals experiencing severe mental health crises (i.e., psychosis, suicidality, self-injurious behaviors, delusions, trauma, etc.).
• Develop and implement specialized treatment and/or behavioral management plans for high-risk individuals with severe mental illness.
• Engage in administrative duties including writing clinical reports and participating in meetings.
• Train MDOC and VCHS staff on managing mental health crises, de-escalation techniques, and suicide prevention.
• Perform in-depth psychological evaluations of individuals presenting with acute psychosis, severe mood disorders, or active suicidal ideation.
• Psychologists will administer evidence-based suicide risk evaluations/assessment/protocol.
• Collaborate with and engage in consultation with psychiatrists and other licensed mental health professionals.
• Engage in other clinical activities as designated by the Regional Behavior Health Director and Chief Psychologist.
