Texas Health and Human Services in Kerrville is seeking a Psychologist III – Forensic Evaluator responsible for conducting advanced psychological evaluations, including competency and violence risk assessments. This full-time role involves expert testimony and supervision of trainees under the direction of the State Hospital Medical Director.
The ideal candidate will hold a doctoral degree in psychology, possess forensic assessment experience, and be licensed as a Psychologist in Texas. The position may require up to 10% travel.

The Psychologist III – Forensic Evaluator performs advanced psychological work, including competency evaluations (46B, Chapter 55), violence risk assessments (46C), and forensic psychological assessments. The role supports forensic programs, provides expert testimony, and supervises trainees under the direction of the State Hospital Medical Director.
Must be licensed as a Psychologist in Texas or a reciprocity state.
All applicants must be at least 18 years old; the Waco and Terrell Center for Youth applicants must be 21. Applicants must pass required background checks, drug screening, and registry checks. Males aged 18‑25 must register with Selective Service.
Full‑time, exempt, day shift. Up to 10% travel and occasional overtime or extended hours. Telework not eligible.
