WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. seeks a licensed clinical psychologist to join the Family Medicine Residency program in Wheeling, WV.

The role centers on integrating behavioral health into the residency education, delivering monthly lectures, and supervising residents. Under guidance of the Program Director and Clinic Director, the psychologist will oversee clinical, educational, and administrative duties, participate in resident assessments and interviews, and contribute to a strong training

  • State and Federal background checks as required

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct clinical intervention services to individuals, couples, families and groups
  • Provides psychological testing, evaluation, services, reports, and expert testimony in legal proceedings including probable cause and commitment hearings
  • Completes all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner (case notes, reports, intakes, terminations, treatment plans)
  • Responsible for preparation and monitoring of individual client behavior plans and oversight of behavior management plans
  • Collaborates with psychiatrist and other specialists in developing treatment programs for clients
  • Provides case consultation and attends client team meetings
  • Maintains or exceeds performance standards set by administrative team
  • Maintains licensure/certification and continuing education hours
  • Keeps abreast of coding changes to maximize billing
  • Completes and maintains required documentation for regulatory compliance
  • Arranges for and maintains participation in clinical supervision and provides supervision as requested

Job description

Provides individual, group, family and conjoint therapy. Provides psychological evaluations, testing, reports and expert testimony in legal proceedings including probable cause and commitment hearings. Provides clinical supervision and consultation to other staff. Participates in the planning and implementation of yearly goals, quality assurance, peer review and treatment philosophy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

  • Must possess current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided
  • WV: Licensed Psychologist - West Virginia Board of Examiners in Psychology
  • MD: Licensed Psychologist - Maryland State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
  • State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas.
EXPERIENCE
  • One (1) year of patient care experience (can include practicum and internship experience)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

  • Advanced Continuing education in clinical areas

  • Maintains or exceeds performance standards set by administrative team.
  • Applies for and maintains the highest level of licensure or certification for which (s)he is eligible. Assures continuation of such by acquiring the minimum number of hours of training or CEUs necessary to retain such licensure or certification.
  • Establishes a knowledge of appropriate codes and keeps abreast of changes in order to maximize billing.
  • Completes and maintains the quantity and quality of documentation necessary to meet regulatory and organizational requirements
  • Arranges for, documents and maintains participation in clinical supervision. Provides clinical supervision as requested.

ADDITIONAL JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Maryland license is not required for this position.
  • The Licensed Clinical Psychologist for the residency program shall focus on the integration of behavioral health into the family medicine residency educational program. The Licensed Clinical Psychologist shall serve as core faculty for the family medicine residency training program. Under the guidance of the Program Director, the FMC Clinic Director and Designated Institutional Official:
  • Direct all clinical, education, and administrative duties associated with behavioral sciences at the Family Medicine Residency.
  • Deliver monthly lectures as part of the Family Medicine Residency didactic series.
  • Provide clinical input for residents on behavioral health issues in patient panels.
  • Provide regular assessments of the Family Medicine residents who are providing care to patients in the Family Medicine Center.
  • Participate in the interview, selection, and ranking process of residency candidates for the Family Medicine program.
  • Serve as a member of the Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) and the Program Evaluation Committee (PEC) for the Family Medicine Residency program.
  • Attend and participate in faculty related activities such as weekly faculty meetings, the Resident retreat, and faculty development sessions.
  • Be available for educational consultations related to patients seen by the residents.
  • Complete and submit in a timely manner, meaningful evaluations of residents and medical students.
  • Administration structured educational experience that residents report adheres to ACGME institutional and program specific requirements. The curriculum must be structured so behavioral health is integrated into the residents’ total educational experience, to include the physical aspects of patient care. The curriculum should follow guidelines established by the AAFP.
