Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center’s University Behavioral Associates (UBA) is seeking full-time Licensed Psychologists to join our WeCARE program. Psychologists play a central role in determining employability for individuals with mental health conditions and assisting with federal disability applications.

As a WeCARE Psychologist, you collaborate with the Medical Director to implement procedures, conduct assessments when disputes arise or when functional capacity outcomes are unclear, and help WeCARE

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in psychology required
• Licensed Psychologist in the State of New York (active)
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• Experience with disability evaluations strongly preferred
• Strong writing skills and knowledge of medical/behavioral health diagnoses

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological assessments for clients when there is a disagreement with Functional Capacity Outcome determinations or where a FC outcome cannot be determined due to potential mental health barriers to employment.
• Serve as a clinical resource for WeCARE staff to help ensure program goals and contractual obligations are met.
• Collaborate with Medical Director to implement SOPs and ensure adherence to NYC HRA contractual requirements

Overview

Montefiore Medical Center’s subsidiary, University Behavioral Associates (UBA), is seeking full‑time Licensed Psychologists to join our WeCARE program. WeCARE is an employment‑focused program serving welfare recipients with medical and/or mental health disorders. Psychologists play a central role in determining employability for individuals with mental health conditions and assisting with federal disability applications.

Responsibilities

The Psychologist collaborates closely with the Medical Director to implement standard operating procedures and ensure adherence to NYC HRA contractual requirements. Primary responsibilities include conducting Psychological Assessments for clients when:

• They disagree with their Functional Capacity Outcome determination, or
• A Functional Capacity Outcome cannot be determined following a Clinical Assessment and potential mental health barriers to employment are identified.

You will also serve as a clinical resource for WeCARE staff to help ensure that program goals and contractual obligations are consistently met.

Requirements

• Doctoral Degree required (PHD or PsyD).
• Licensed Psychologist in the State of New York (active registration required).
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required.
• Experience with disability evaluations strongly preferred.
• Strong writing skills required.
• Knowledge of medical and/or behavioral health diagnoses required.
