The Rose F. Kennedy Children's Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center (CERC) at Montefiore is nationally recognized multi- disciplinary program that provides a broad spectrum of clinical services for infants, children, adolescents, and adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
This psychologist will serve as the Director of the Psychoeducational/Remediation program in the Child and Adolescent Unit. This position will lead, promote, manage and recruit externs and students for the Fisher Landau Center for Treatment of Learning Disabilities program.The psychologist will work with patients with learning disabilities and other neurodevelopmental disabilities ages 7 through 21.
Primary responsibilities will focus on diagnostic and intervention needs. The psychologist will be responsible for conducting psychological/psychoeducational evaluations for diagnostic clarification and to assist with educational and treatment planning. Therapeutically, the psychologist will use evidence-based therapeutic techniques and evidenced-based multi-sensory academic remediation strategies in order to help patients attain their goals. Treatment goals for patients include, but are not limited to, developing a better understanding of one’s disability, improving self-esteem, decreasing anxiety, improving self-monitoring skills, as well as, improving academic competency.
