Job Summary

Position Title: Clinical Psychologist

Reporting to: Behavioral Health Department

Job Summary: The Department of Behavioral Health at Essen has immediate openings for part-time and full-time Clinical Psychologists responsible for providing direct patient care in outpatient and nursing home facilities. There is an opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team at Essen. All sites have strong participation with Essen Health home care coordination, with potential innovative pilot projects. The Clinical Psychologist will work with the Behavioral Health Team and offer compassionate, patient-centered, evidence-based psychiatric care.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  1. Assessment of patients referred by Primary Care Provider (PCP) using evidence-based assessment tools.
  2. Treatment of behavioral health conditions using evidence-based approaches (CBT, Motivational Interviewing, crisis intervention, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and behavioral activation).
  3. Make treatment recommendations.
  4. Refer the patient to a Psychiatrist as deemed appropriate.
  5. Monitor client treatment through review of clinical documentation as well as coordination of care with other health providers and health homes.
  6. Provide crisis intervention services and risk assessment of patients as needed.
  7. Engage clients with limited utilization of behavioral health services through outreach efforts.
  8. Document services in a timely fashion.
Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  1. Doctoral Degree in clinical or counseling psychology (Ph.D./PsyD).
  2. Current NYS registration as a Psychologist.
  3. Bilingual (Spanish / English) is a plus but not a requirement.

Salary: $115,000-$125,000
