Job summary

CivicMinds, Inc. is seeking a licensed Psychologist to provide meaningful clinical care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The role blends direct assessment and therapy with leadership, supervision, and program development.

You will conduct FBAs, develop BSPs, supervise approximately 5 Behavioral Intervention Specialists, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team while ensuring OPWDD compliance and high-quality care across residential and day programs.

Qualifications

• Licensed psychologist with Psy.D. in Psychology and NY license.
• Experience with IDD populations and FBAs/BSPs.
• Clinical supervision and staff training experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological assessments and FBAs.
• Develop individualized BSPs.
• Maintain a clinical caseload and provide counseling.
• Supervise about 5 Behavioral Intervention Specialists.

Job description

We are seeking a Psychologist to provide meaningful clinical care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This role combines hands-on clinical work with leadership, staff supervision, and behavioral health program development.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).
• Develop individualized, evidence-based Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).
• Maintain an active clinical caseload and provide individual and group counseling using trauma-informed, person-centered approaches.
• Supervise approximately 5 Behavioral Intervention Specialists across residential and day programs.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, psychiatrists, social workers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Develop and deliver staff training on behavioral interventions and best practices.
• Participate in Human Rights Committee meetings, incident reviews, and quality assurance activities.
• Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations and applicable behavioral health standards.

Requirements

• Psy.D. in Psychology.
• Current New York State Psychology License.
• Minimum 2 years of post-doctoral clinical experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Experience conducting FBAs and developing comprehensive BSPs.
• Experience supervising clinical staff and providing professional training.
