Job summary

CivicMinds, Inc. in New York is seeking a licensed psychologist (Psy.D./Ph.D.) or LCSW to maintain an active clinical caseload and help shape behavioral health practices across residential and day programs.

You will supervise a team of Behavioral Intervention Specialists, mentor clinical staff, and collaborate with nurses, physicians, psychiatrists, and social workers to deliver coordinated, person-centered care with trauma-informed approaches.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D. or Ph.D.) with current New York State licensure, or LCSW licensure with relevant clinical experience.
  • At least two years of post-licensure clinical experience with individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Valid New York State Driver's License.
  • Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and developing Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Experience supervising clinical staff and delivering professional training.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and FBAs.
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based BSPs.
  • Maintain an active clinical caseload and provide individual and group counseling.
  • Supervise and mentor Behavioral Intervention Specialists across programs.
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, psychiatrists, social workers, and other team members to coordinate care.
  • Develop and deliver staff training on behavioral interventions and best practices.
  • Participate in Human Rights Committee meetings and incident reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations and quality assurance standards.

Requirements
  • Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D. or Ph.D.) and current New York State licensure,or appropriate LCSW licensure and relevant clinical experience, depending on the candidate's qualifications.
  • At least two years of relevant post-licensure or post-doctoral clinical experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Valid New York State Driver's License.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and developing comprehensive Behavior Support Plans.
  • Experience supervising clinical staff and providing professional training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in both residential and day habilitation settings.
  • Familiarity with OPWDD regulations, Human Rights Committee processes, and Justice Center reporting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, clinical assessment, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
