Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological screenings and assessments through clinical interviews and records review.

• Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans based on ongoing evaluation.
• Perform rounds in housing areas to evaluate inmate adjustment and needs.

• Consult with staff across departments on behavioral issues and mental health changes.

Overview

A correctional healthcare provider is seeking a dedicated Psychologist to deliver mental health services within a correctional facility setting. This role is critical to providing comprehensive psychological care, crisis intervention, and treatment planning for individuals in a challenging and dynamic environment.

What you'll do

• Conduct psychological screenings and assessments through clinical interviews and review of available records
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, mental health providers, and other clinical staff to ensure integrated, comprehensive care
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans based on ongoing evaluation of patient needs and functioning
• Perform regular rounds in housing areas to evaluate inmate adjustment and mental health needs
• Apply psychological counseling theories and techniques to deliver effective treatments and interventions
• Conduct mental health assessments and provide crisis intervention strategies for inmates in distress
• Consult with staff across departments to gain insight into behavioral issues and mental health changes among inmates
