Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. is seeking a Psychologist to join our Hartsville, TN facility.

The role includes in-person work, 8-hour or 10-hour shifts, with travel pay eligibility based on distance from the facility. The position requires a Doctoral degree in Psychology, an unrestricted Tennessee license, at least two years of clinical experience (including one year in a comparable role), PSV verification, a valid driver’s license, and current certifications.

Qualifications

  • PSV verification from the licensing board or equivalent, if required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychological screenings and assessments based on records and clinical interviews with inmates.
  • Collaborate with psychiatry, nurses, physicians, social workers and others to coordinate care.
  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans.
  • Make rounds in segregation or other housing areas to assess mental health needs.
  • Apply counseling theory and techniques for clients with varied caseloads.
  • Provide mental health assessments, counseling, and crisis interventions as needed.
  • Consult with multiple departments to understand behavior changes driving care needs.

Travel Rate (based on 36 hours): Hrly $78.47, Stipend (Lodging $770.00 + M&I $476.00) = $1,246.00

Total Comp :$4,070.20

Travel Eligibility: Candidates must live at least 70+ miles from the facility to qualify for Travel Pay.

Shift Details:
  • Full Time - in person 8 hour shifts, 5 days per week or 10 hours shift, 4 days / week
Psychologist Duties & Responsibilities:
  • The successful candidate should be able to perform ALL of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the actual job performance requirements.
  • Conducts psychological screenings and assessments based on review of available records, and clinical interviews with inmates.
  • As part of a mental health team, confers with other clinical staff, e.g., psychiatrists, mental health service providers, physicians, nurses, social workers, in order to gather and provide information concerning patient psychological problems, to ensure treatment activities are well integrated, and patient care follow-through occurs.
  • Provides treatment to inmates by developing, implementing, and modifying individual treatment plans based on evaluation of needs and level of functioning.
  • Makes regular rounds in segregation or other confined housing areas to assess inmate adjustment and mental health treatment needs.
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques by way of treatments and activities used for individuals in caseload.
  • Provides appropriate mental health assessments, counseling, and confrontation avoidance interventions to address the needs of inmates in crisis.
  • Consults with psychiatry, mental health, nursing, medical, educational, chaplain, security staff, and others, as applicable to gather information and understanding into the reasons for the escalation of problems behaviors and changes in mental health condition of inmates.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current, valid, and unrestricted TN license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
  • Must have two (2) years of clinical experience, which includes one year in a comparable position.
  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Doctoral degree in Psychology.
  • Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
