Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Psychiatrist for the Charlotte VA Medical Center to lead clinical care within Mental Health and to supervise residents.

You will provide comprehensive psychiatric services, teach medical students and residents, and contribute to hospital committees, with on-site responsibilities and a strong teaching environment. Eligible for Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) and federal benefits.

Qualifications

• United States citizenship as required by VA policy.
• MD/DO degree from an approved medical school.
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the US.
• Residency training approved for board eligibility; VA qualifications applied.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care and supervision.
• Teach medical students, residents, and other trainees.
• Participate in hospital committees and quality improvement initiatives.
• Respond to emergency psychiatric needs during on-call hours.
