Job summary

The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery at the Chicago-Read Mental Health Center, part of the Illinois Department of Human Services, seeks a Physician Specialist Option C to provide psychiatric and medical assessments and treatments during an assigned shift.

As a non-administrative Illinois-licensed physician, you will join a treatment team, oversee patient evaluations, write orders, and participate in court testimony as needed. In-office schedule Monday–Friday; union position under RC063.

Qualifications

• Requires a valid State of Illinois Physician and Surgeon License.
• Requires completion of an approved residency in psychiatry.

Responsibilities

• Provides a full range of psychiatric/medical assessments and treatments to patients on an assigned shift.
• Writes physician's orders and documents progress in the medical record.
• Serves as a member and leader of the treatment team, coordinating treatment plans and discharge planning.
