Description

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai/Mount Sinai Hospital is seeking several Faculty Attending Psychiatrists to provide consultation using telehealth for patients in Adult Medical EDs across the Health System.

Position Summary:
The position will staff a hub/spoke telemedicine consultation model for patients across several adult Medical EDs requiring consultation, across the Mount Sinai Health system. The central pool of psychiatry attending providers will respond to psychiatric consult requests from medical EDs, as well as help coordinate admissions across MSHS facilities. The psychiatrist will work closely with the Clinical Command Center and facilitate transfers from within the Health System as well as non MSHS hospitals.

Responsibilities

Position Description:

  1. Provide tele-psychiatry consultation and follow-up to patients in various medical EDs across MSHS, from a central location or home.
  2. In collaboration with the Command Center, facilitate rapid admissions for patients in need.
  3. Evaluate requests for inpatient transfers and facilitate acceptance from non MSHS facilities.
  4. Collaborate closely with colleagues as an integral part of a health system.

Qualifications

Position Qualifications:

  1. MD or DO degree.
  2. Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Adult Psychiatry.
  3. Possess NYS license to practice medicine.
  4. At least one year post-residency clinical experience in an acute care psychiatric setting preferred.
  5. Excellent clinical knowledge and communication skills required.
  6. Must possess highly collaborative and proactive approach, and demonstrate commitment to high-quality, cost-effective health care.
  7. A strong work ethic and desire to participate in and grow a team-oriented, performance-driven department.
  8. Qualifications for Assistant Professor or higher level required.

Compensation range from 225K to 285K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
