Favorite Healthcare Staffing Inc. is seeking a Certified Billing & Coding Specialist for a permanent, direct-hire role in San Antonio, TX. The position offers hybrid work in a psychiatric practice with full-time hours, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, and a competitive benefits package.

Responsibilities include managing the full billing cycle in Valant, payer relations, ICD-10/CPT coding, and monitoring KPIs. The ideal candidate holds CPC/CCS/CCS-P and has 2+ years of experience in mental health billing.

Qualifications

• Active CPC/ CCS/ CCS-P certification
• 2+ years of medical billing and coding experience, preferably in mental health
• Experience with Valant EMR strongly preferred
• Experience with clearinghouses and payer portals
• Knowledge of major payers (BCBS, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Medicare)

Responsibilities

• Manage the full billing cycle within Valant, including charge entry, claims, payment posting, and patient billing
• Manage payer relations, credentialing, authorizations, collections, and claim denials
• Review documentation and ensure accurate behavioral health ICD-10 and CPT coding
• Research and resolve denied or delayed claims with insurance payers
• Monitor clinic KPIs and financial reports to identify trends and revenue opportunities
• Progress into leadership responsibilities, including training and supervising administrative/billing staff
