Job summary

UnityPoint Clinic in Waterloo, IA is hiring a Psychiatry Advanced Practitioner to join our physician-led team. This role focuses on comprehensive psychiatric care for adults, with opportunities for telehealth and flexible scheduling.

The selected candidate will perform initial evaluations and ongoing follow-ups, collaborate with physicians and other clinicians, and participate in an integrated system using EPIC EMR to improve care coordination and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Behavioral health experience preferred.
• PMHNP certification required.
• Must hold an unrestricted license to practice in Iowa.
• Eligible to work in the United States and have prescribing authority.

Responsibilities

• Average 12–16 patients per day, with no nights or weekends.
• Schedule flexibility to support work/life balance.
• Virtual and telehealth opportunities available.
• Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations and follow-ups.
• Consult with other clinicians to coordinate care.
• Long-acting injectable clinic onsite.

UnityPoint Clinic is a physician-led, nonprofit health care organization offering comprehensive services in primary care, walk-in care and specialty care. The clinical teams at the area’s clinics are improving outcomes, lowering the number of hospital readmissions and reducing avoidable costs associated with treating chronic conditions. • Provide great care at Black Hawk Grundy Mental Health Center, a community mental health ceneter serving patients in the Waterloo area
• Established team of 1 physician and 9 Advanced Practitioners
• Established outpatient practice with larger patient base and opportunity for grown
• Multidisciplinary team of experienced Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, RN, Therapists, Community Support Specialists
• Full-time position, including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access
• Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination

Qualifications

• Behavioral health experienced preffered
• PMHNP
• Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of IA
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
• Eligible to work in the United States
