The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our innovative team on a part time basis, in a virtual capacity. This position will provide virtual medical services as determined by the Medical Board of Directors of Health by Design Medical Group and to the extent permitted by the Texas Professional Association Act and the applicable canons of professional ethics. This individual will focus on working with our Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) providing case consultation for medication management, collaboration complex psychiatric diagnostics and integrated behavioral-medical models. You will have the opportunity to be part of a team that is making a meaningful impact on a unique patient population that includes retired San Antonio Fire and Police. This is a part-time REMOTE/VIRTUAL position, 4 hours a week. Schedule is flexible, as long as the hours are between 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday - Friday. What You’ll Do:
Works collaboratively with LPCs providing case consultation for medication management collaboration, complex psychiatric diagnostics and integrated behavioral-medical models.
Create individualized treatment plans, including utilizing evidence-based guidelines to provide medication management, as well as other therapies.
Continuously update knowledge and skills through continuing education and professional development.
Documents patient assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and in timely manner.
Determines which referrals are required based on examination and patient needs.
Determines level of urgency of follow-up, referral/consultation appointments.
Exercises final medical judgment in all issues of health care.
Reviews on a regular basis long term cases that require ongoing medical attention.
Consults with Chief Medical Officer, Physician Leads, and other professionals on staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and educational issues.
Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by Health by Design
Assists as needed in the resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients.
May assist in the development, production, and presentation of medical education, material, lectures, and mixed media presentations for patient and medical staff.
Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations.
What You’ll Bring
Education and Experience:
Education: Graduate of accredited US School of Medicine; MD or DO
Experience: Minimum of two years of direct work experience as a Psychiatrist
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Required:
Current license to practice in state of clinic location (Texas)
Board Certification / Board Eligible (Psychiatry)
