Position Overview
The Regional Medical Director provides therapy and/or medication management to diagnose and treat patients.
- Deliver clinical services meeting community standards and adhere to medical ethics.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments using the bio-psycho-social model.
- Identify psychiatric conditions per DSM-5.
- Develop treatment plans collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Manage psychopharmacologic treatments.
- Order and evaluate diagnostic tests.
- Coordinate hospitalizations with healthcare professionals.
- Provide psychoeducation to patients and families.
- Work with medical assistants to optimize workflow and patient experience.
Other Duties
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
- At least five years of mental health experience, including three years in clinical supervision and leadership of clinics or similar organizations.
- Expertise in crisis intervention, working with the mentally ill, and managing acute psychiatric episodes.
- State or national professional registration/certification.
