Job summary

PAGNY is seeking a Part-Time Psychiatrist to provide outpatient psychiatric care for adults at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health in Brooklyn, NY. The role involves a 24-hour work week, with some flexibility for evening sessions as outpatient services expand.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, perform assessments, manage medications, and contribute to treatment planning and documentation. Teaching responsibilities may be involved with medical students and trainees.

Qualifications

• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry.
• Active New York State Medical License.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient psychiatric care to adults 18+ including geriatric patients.
• Participate as a member of the outpatient interdisciplinary treatment team and in team meetings.
• Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments and intakes, ongoing psychopharmacologic treatment, treatment planning, risk assessment, and timely clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with Behavioral Health, Primary Care, and other services to promote continuity of care.
• Participate in quality, safety, and performance-improvement activities.
• Teaching and supervisory responsibilities for medical students, interns, trainees, and externs as applicable.

Opportunity Details

• 24-hour per week schedule; generally any 3 days Monday-Friday with flexibility to add1-2 evening sessions weekly as outpatient evening services expand.
• Provide outpatient psychiatric care to adults age 18 and older, including geriatric patients.
• Participate as a member of the outpatient interdisciplinary treatment team and in team meetings.
• Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments and intakes,ongoing psychopharmacologic treatment,appropriate outreach, treatment planning, risk assessment, and timely clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with Behavioral Health, Primary Care, and other services to promote continuity of care and movement to the appropriate level of treatment.
• Participate in quality, safety, and performance-improvement activities.
• Teaching and supervisory responsibilities for medical students, interns, trainees, and externs, as applicable, as part of the Behavioral Health treatment program.

Wages and Benefits include

Annual Base Salary: $167,169* (board eligible); $173,596* (board certified) based on 24-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $311,885** (board eligible) and $318,955** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

• Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000***.
• Projected bonus of up to $24,000 (based on previous year's average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
• 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
  • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
