Job summary

Optum is seeking a Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to join Behavioral Health of Delaware in Wilmington, DE. You will provide direct clinical services, including psychosocial assessments and medication management, within a multidisciplinary team.

This role supports graduate student training and involves EHR documentation (Athena RMS) with a focus on improving patient outcomes in outpatient settings. Sign-on bonus offered for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychosocial assessments and individual/family/group treatment.

• Coordinate care with external providers and community presentations.
• Support the training of graduate students.
• Maintain accurate electronic records and regulatory-compliant documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical services to patients in the form of psychosocial assessments, as well as individual, family, and group treatment
• Conduct outpatient psychiatric evaluations and provide ongoing medication management
• Collaborate as a member of a multi-disciplinary integrated team for the development and delivery of treatment plans
• Foster excellent provider-patient alliances and coordinate care with external providers
• Represent the practice in community presentations and lectures as opportunities arise
• Contribute to enriching the training experience of graduate students
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic records (Athena) and clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Clear and active Psychiatrist License (MD/DO) in the state of practice
• Board-Eligible or Board-Certified in the state of practice
• Obtain the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of Behavioral Health experience in an outpatient clinical setting
• Experience using computers for professional communication and medical documentation (e.g., Excel, Outlook, Athena RMS or other EHRs)
• Expertise in treating children, adolescents, and families
