Job summary

Merakey is seeking a hybrid part-time Psychiatrist to support our Long Term Structured Residence programs in Russellton and Beaver Falls, PA. The role offers telehealth with at least one onsite visit per location each month, and a pay rate up to $200 per hour.

You will lead psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and medication management, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and ensure services meet state regulations while promoting residents’ recovery and community integration.

Qualifications

• Psychiatrist with active, unrestricted Pennsylvania license.
• Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication; collaborative work with teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments upon admission and during treatment.
• Develop, review, and approve individualized treatment plans with the treatment team.
• Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications; evaluate treatment effectiveness.
• Provide ongoing psychiatric care, including risk assessment and symptom management.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and coordinate with nursing, therapy, case management, and direct care staff.
• Respond to psychiatric crises and determine need for escalation of care.
• Ensure services meet Pennsylvania DHS regulations and professional standards of care.
• Support resident recovery, rehabilitation, and transition to community settings.

Pay range: Up to $200/hr

Position details:

The Psychiatrist provides leadership for psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, medication management, and clinical decision-making within the Long Term Structured Residence (LTSR). The Psychiatrist collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure residents receive comprehensive, recovery-oriented behavioral health services that promote stability, independence, and successful community integration.

Duties include:

• Conducting psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments upon admission and throughout treatment
• Developing, reviewing, and approving individualized treatment plans as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Prescribing, monitoring, and adjusting psychiatric medications and evaluating treatment effectiveness.
• Providing ongoing psychiatric care, including assessment of mental status, symptom management, and risk factors.
• Participating in treatment team meetings and collaborating with nursing, therapy, case management, and direct care staff.
• Responding to psychiatric crises and determining the need for emergency interventions or higher levels of care, including hospitalization when indicated.
• Ensuring psychiatric services are delivered in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Human Services regulations and professional standards of care.
• Supporting resident recovery, rehabilitation, and transition planning to the least restrictive community-based setting possible
• Participating in commitment hearings
