Job summary

Riverview Behavioral Health Hospital in Texarkana, AR is seeking a full‑time Inpatient Psychiatrist to diagnose and treat patients (Adults and Child/Adolescent). You will provide clinical services within approved medical protocols, review patient information, and develop individualized care plans.

Board certification and AR license, plus DEA credentials, are required; experience beyond residency is preferred. The role demands adherence to confidentiality, compliance and timely documentation.

Riverview Behavioral Health is a 62-bed inpatient hospital treating individuals suffering from a mental health primary diagnosis from ages twelve and up. Our treatment center is located in Texarkana, AR serving the greater southwest Arkansas region.

We are currently seeking to add a Full-Time, Inpatient Psychiatrist to our skilled and patient focused team. This role will see both Adults, and Child & Adolescent patients.

About The Role

Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication.

• Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility.
• Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.
• Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
• Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
• Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
• Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.
• Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
• One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred.
• Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.

Licenses/Certifications

• Board certification in psychiatry
• Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
