Job summary

Red Rock in Oklahoma City seeks a board-certified/eligible psychiatrist to provide psychiatric and medical assessment and treatment at designated Medication Clinic locations. You will review and approve treatment plans and consult with the staff as needed.

The role involves coordinating with psychiatrists and nurses, conducting assessments, providing crisis management, and contributing to discharge planning while educating families and participating in legal proceedings when required.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in psychiatry and licensed to practice in Oklahoma.
• One year relevant experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment, tact, patience, and maintain effective relationships.
• Must complete all in-service and external training requirements.
• Two years of relevant experience preferred.
• Clinical supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prescribes medications and facilitates medication management in coordination with the psychiatrist.
• Conducts medical and psychiatric assessments including history, illness course, and diagnoses.
• Assists in comprehensive assessment of patients' psychiatric history, physical health, social factors, and daily living activities.
• Collaborates with registered nurses on assessments and educates patients about psychotropic medications.
• Provides support, education, and counseling to family members.
• Involved in discharge planning and consumer care coordination.
• Submits reports and testimony in legal proceedings when required.
• Trains staff in core psychopharmacology and medical treatment concepts.
• Collaborates with nurses to develop and update treatment policies.
