Our client, a leading health system committed to excellence, is hiring a Psychiatrist. They are dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to our community. Join the inpatient psychiatric team and work in a supportive environment that fosters collaboration, professional development, and staff and patient well-being. The General Psychiatrist will provide inpatient psychiatric care for adults in a 24-bed unit. The position is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with one night call and one weekend call per month. This is an inpatient-only role, working with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive mental health services in an acute care setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient psychiatric care to adult patients in the 24-bed unit.
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
• Develop and implement treatment plans collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
• Monitor patient progress, adjust treatments as necessary, and provide ongoing support.
• Participate in team meetings and case discussions to ensure coordinated care.
• Provide psychiatric assessments and consultations for medical and surgical units.
• Educate patients and families on psychiatric conditions and treatment options.
• Participate in on-call coverage (one night and one weekend per month).
• Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive medical records.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Board Certified in Psychiatry (or completed within two years of residency).
• At least 3 years of experience in general psychiatry, preferably inpatient.
• Boarded in Addiction Medicine is a plus.
• Effective team collaboration and high-quality patient care skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule

• Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• One night and one weekend call per month.
