Job summary

Nasson Health Care, a division of York County Community Action Corp, seeks a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive evaluations, diagnosis and treatment for patients across the lifespan at our Federally Qualified Health Center in Springvale and Biddeford, Maine. You will work with primary care and behavioral health teams to advance integrated care.

Required: medical degree from a U.S.

Qualifications

• Must have a medical degree from an accredited U.S. medical school.
• Board certified or Board eligible in Psychiatry.
• Unrestricted Maine license to practice medicine.
• US Drug Enforcement Agency registration with authorization to prescribe controlled substances.

Responsibilities

• Conducts psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and medication management for patients of all ages.
• Develops and implements individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
• Provides SUD and OUD treatment.
• Provides crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed.
• Adheres to FQHC standards and applicable regulations.

Nasson Health Care is a Federally Qualified Health Center with clinical sites in Springvale and Biddeford, Maine. We serve York County and neighboring communities through provision of fully integrated medical, dental and behavioral health care.

Full or Part-Time

The Psychiatrist provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment services to patients across the lifespan within a Federally Qualified Health Center. This role plays a key part in advancing integrated behavioral health care, collaborating closely with primary care providers, behavioral health clinicians, and care management teams. The Psychiatrist:

• Conducts psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and medication management for patients with mental health and co-occurring conditions for adults, adolescents, and children.
• Develops and implements individualized treatment plans consistent with evidence-based practices.
• Provides substance use disorder (SUD) and opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment.
• Provides crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed.
• Adheres to FQHC standards, federal and state regulations, and clinical best practices.

Applicants must have a medical degree from an accredited medical school in the U.S., be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry. Have an unrestricted Maine license to practice medicine. And have a U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency registration with authorization to prescribe controlled substances. Qualifications include:

• Experience working in an FQHC, community mental health center, or similar setting.
• Experience with telepsychiatry.
• Familiarity with trauma informed care and social determinants of health.
• Proficiency in the use of at least one ONC-certified electronic medical record system and basic Microsoft applications.
• Must not have an active record on the System for Award Management (SAM) website.

Must show proof of immunity or have been immunized for MMR, Hep B, Influenza (required annually) and the COVID primary series.
