Job summary

Monarch is seeking a part-time Psychiatrist to join our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) in Winston-Salem and Greensboro, NC. This unique role provides community-based psychiatric care by traveling to the homes of individuals we support. It is a Part-Time position offering 10–24 hours per week, with flexible scheduling and up to 10 hours per day.

Responsibilities

  • Educate individuals and families about treatment options.
  • Travel to the homes of individuals supported by the ACTT and participate in team meetings.

Job Summary

Monarch is seeking a part time Psychiatrist to join our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) in Winston-Salem and Greensboro, NC. This is a unique and rewarding role providing community-based psychiatric care, traveling directly to the homes of the individuals we support. This is a Part Time role offering 10–24 hours per week: 10 hours per week in Guilford County and 14 hours per week in Forsyth County. We offer flexible scheduling, including the option to work up to 10 hours per day. This position is 100% onsite with no remote work option.

Responsibilities
  • Assess individuals served by the Assertive Community Treatment Team for mental health disorders and make an appropriate DSM diagnosis.
  • Ensure that services are delivered in a medically appropriate manner and care follows service definitions and best practices.
  • Review past treatments, evaluations, and other relevant information to develop an appropriate diagnosis and person‑centered plans.
  • Screen referrals in coordination with the other Assertive Community Treatment Team members.
  • Prescribe medication when appropriate.
  • Request diagnostic lab work when appropriate.
  • Maintain all necessary documentation and records in a timely manner, including use of an Electronic Health Records system (EHR).
  • Provide education to individuals to aid their understanding of diagnosis and recommend appropriate treatment.
  • Involve and educate family members and other supports in treatment.
  • Encourage individuals to participate in mental health therapy when appropriate.
  • Collaborate, coordinate, and consult with other providers such as counselors, psychologists, social workers and medical staff of local providers, including state hospitals, local hospitals, other community agencies, primary healthcare providers, CCNC, public health departments, Federally Qualified Health Clinics to discuss treatment plans and progress.
  • Participate in staffing of complex or high‑risk individuals with other program staff.
  • Provide clinical supervision of assigned physician assistants and nurse practitioners who will be added to his/her North Carolina medical license as collaborating physician.
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings and training as required.
  • Maintain certification in all agency, state and federal training requirements.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with all agency policies and procedures, and service definitions related to specific program areas.
  • Follow service definition guidelines for services being provided.
  • Complete all other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Driving and travel may be required.
  • Meet regularly with Assertive Community Treatment Team members to formulate and disseminate information and be available by telephone.
