Job summary

Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) invites psychiatrists to join its Behavioral Health team to provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care across the lifespan in a culturally respectful setting.

As a board-certified or board-eligible physician with Oklahoma license, you will conduct evaluations, manage medications, coordinate with primary care and behavioral health colleagues, and contribute to quality improvement while honoring Native traditions and Indian Preference policies.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited college or university.
• Must have documentation of completion of residency in Psychiatry from an accredited residency program.
• Must be Board-certified or Board-eligible in Psychiatry.
• Must have a license to practice in Oklahoma.
• Must have a current DEA license and OBNDD registration for prescriptive authority.
• Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-based psychiatric care.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments using DSM-5 criteria.
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of mental health and substance use disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapeutic interventions.
• Provide psychiatric consultations to behavioral health clinicians and primary care providers.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and coordinated patient care.
• Respond to behavioral health crises through scheduled, walk-in, telephone, and provider referrals.
• Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation within the electronic health record.
• Coordinate referrals for specialty behavioral health services when appropriate.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, department meetings, and organizational committees.

As part of our integrated healthcare team, you'll collaborate with behavioral health providers, primary care clinicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, crisis intervention, and treatment planning for patients across the lifespan.
