Job summary

Alliance Healthcare Services, Memphis, TN is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide medical/psychiatric leadership under the Medical Director. The role requires an MD in Psychiatry and Tennessee licensure with experience in interdisciplinary care and supervision of APRNs.

The Psychiatrist will set standards for facility medical management, develop care plans, collaborate with staff and families, and ensure compliance with regulatory and funding guidelines.

Qualifications

  • MD degree and psychiatry residency completed.
  • Current Tennessee license without sanctions.
  • Experience with interdisciplinary teams and APRN supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the assessment and development of an appropriate plan of care.
  • Involve client, family and staff in execution of the plan of care.
  • Intervene as warranted in response to DISCUS assessment.
  • Incorporate interdisciplinary assessments into the plan of care such as BDP, IEP and other medical disciplines.
  • Thorough knowledge of psychotropic management and interventions.
  • Documentation in accordance with medical, regulatory and funding guidelines.
  • Provide mandated oversight to Advance Practice Nurses.
  • Provide consultation as warranted to other clinical staff.
  • Assist in development of clinical policies and procedures.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Medical Director

Summary

The Psychiatrist, under auspices of or in conjunction with the Medical Director, sets the standards for facility medical/psychiatric management.

Education Requirement

MD degree and completed a residency in psychiatry

Experience Requirement
  • Current license to practice in state of Tennessee without sanctions. Documented evidence of training or knowledge of psychiatric management. Working with Dually Diagnosed a plus. Current CEU

requirements in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
