The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join their interdisciplinary team at the Independence Mental Health Institute. This role includes providing direct patient care, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and participating in the residency program. The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Independence Mental Health Institute (IMHI) are seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join their interdisciplinary team. This position provides opportunity for professional development, leadership advancement, life-long learning, and collaboration with various providers and public and private partners.
Primary responsibilities of this Psychiatrist position include:

IMHI provides inpatient psychiatric treatment for adults, adolescents, and children. The hospital’s mission is to treat Iowans with psychiatric illness and return them to their communities as soon as possible. The hospital serves patients throughout Iowa and embodies a public sector and safety net approach to care. IMHI has an operating capacity of 20 adult beds and 36 child/adolescent beds. A Psychiatrist with experience and competence treating children and adolescents is preferred.
