Job summary

Cogent Infotech seeks a Psychiatrist to provide clinical leadership and direct patient care in a hospital setting. The Physician Administrator will oversee psychiatric services, supervise physicians, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated patient care.

The position is based mainly on two hospital campuses in Cranston or Pascoag (Burrillville), Rhode Island. Daily rounds and coordination of care are required across facilities.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized medical school.
• Completion of an ACGME-approved psychiatry residency.
• Board certification or board eligibility in psychiatry with within-three-year certification requirement.
• Unrestricted Rhode Island medical license by start date.
• DEA registration and RI CS registration by start date.
• Ability to manage complex psychiatric cases, supervise physicians, and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients, diagnose psychiatric conditions, and develop treatment plans.
• Provide direct psychiatric care, conduct rounds, and prescribe medications and treatments.
• Supervise physicians and coordinate assigned psychiatric services.
• Consult with clinical staff on complex cases and treatment decisions.
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Review patient care and support adherence to hospital policies and professional standards.
• Provide education and training to physicians and psychiatry residents.
• Assist with developing and updating clinical policies and procedures.
