Overview

Responsible for conducting mental health assessments, triage, short-term counseling, referral, and follow-up for Medical Centers Behavioral Health. Incorporates knowledge and expertise in identifying employees' needs and collaborates with other departments to implement classes and programs that promote employee health and well-being.

• Provides mental health assessments, triage, short-term counseling, referral, and follow-up for clients through Medical Centers Behavioral Health.
• Creates a therapeutic environment for clients, ensuring confidentiality.
• Completes clinical documentation for all activities.
• Provides information on internal and external programs and resources to clients, including via telephone inquiries.
• Prepares and presents educational classes on related subjects as needed.

Qualifications

Education Required

• MA or MS in a mental health-related field from an accredited college or university.

Education Preferred

License, Certification, and/or Registration

• Alabama license or certification eligible in the field of specialty within 1 year of hire.

Experience

• Minimum of two years of experience in a mental health-related field involving group and individual therapy preferred.

Additional Skills/Abilities
