Job summary

Waukesha County Human Resources is looking for a dedicated Psychiatric Technician to join the Mental Health Center. This LTE position offers varied hours based on hospital needs, allowing you to make a significant impact in the lives of community members.

With a focus on mental health and supportive care, you will work closely with experienced clinical leaders and receive ongoing training. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, relevant education in psychology, and a Wisconsin CNA certification.

Qualifications

  • Two years of education in psychology, sociology, or related fields.
  • Valid Wisconsin CNA certification is required.

Work Assignment Details

Waukesha County's Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a talented and compassionate Psychiatric Technician to serve community members working towards bettering their mental health. The Mental Health Center is certified to provide mental health and substance use inpatient treatment services and maintains a close working relationship with Waukesha Memorial Hospital and other community agencies and partners. This is an LTE position with varied hours based on needs of the hospital.

Qualifications

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements

  • High school graduation or GED equivalent
  • Two years of recognized post‑high school education with at least two courses in psychology, sociology, or social work
  • OR six months of patient care experience in a mental health setting or a residential treatment center for mentally ill or developmentally disabled or related area
  • OR completions of two semesters of clinical education as a nursing student in a recognized nursing education program
  • Possession of a valid State of Wisconsin CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification
