Job summary

CoxHealth's Cox North in Springfield, MO invites a compassionate patient care assistant to join the Adult Psychiatry team on the night shift. You will work under nursing supervision to gather patient information, observe changes, and assist with basic care needs in a high-paced psychiatric setting.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent; preferred Bachelor’s in psychology or related field; experience in mental health is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field.
• Experience in mental health or age-specific population preferred.
• Must obtain department-specific certifications within designated time frame.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care under direction of nursing staff.
• Obtains information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff, and reports any changes.
• Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication, time management and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
