Novant Health is hiring a Psychiatric Tech to assist in the Geriatric Psychology/Behavioral Health unit at Thomasville Medical Center. The role requires CNA certification and involves care for psychiatric patients under RN supervision during the 7pm–7am night shift at the Thomasville, NC campus.

Education should include a high school diploma or GED, with a 4-year degree preferred. Training in facility-specific restrictive interventions within 3 months is required, with NC CNAI preferred.

• CNA certification is required.
• MOAB holds ability is preferred (for behavioral health holds).
• Experience in inpatient behavioral health with adults recommended.

• Assist with care of psychiatric patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Support patients across age groups from young adults to geriatrics in a psychiatric setting.

What We Offer

• Schedule: 7pm-7am, Nightshift, Full-time
• Department: Geriatric Psych - Behavioral Health
• Location: Thomasville Medical Center, Thomasville, North Carolina
• Description: The Psychiatric Tech is responsible for assisting with care of psychiatric patients from young adults up the age continuum through geriatrics under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Previous experience in inpatient behavioral health with adults is recommended. CNA Certification REQUIRED

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
• Experience: 1 year, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required. CNAI in NC, preferred.
• Additional Skills (preferred): Ability to perform all MOAB physical holds. Ability to care for Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse age specific patients within facility.
