Job summary

Billings Clinic is seeking a Psychiatric Tech on the main campus for a part-time schedule (.6). You will provide patient care, assist with ADLs, monitor safety, and document observations as part of an interdisciplinary team implementing individualized treatment plans.

Starting wage is $17.00–$21.25 per hour with a potential $2,000 sign-on incentive; Billings Clinic emphasizes nursing excellence as a Magnet-designated organization in Montana.

Qualifications

• 6 months training or direct experience in the mental health or related human services field with demonstrated ability and skills to work therapeutically with patients.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that patients and their environment are safe. Complete patient and environmental safety observations on assigned unit.
• Provide patient care and assist with ADLs as needed such as personal hygiene, toileting, bathing, transferring, and eating.
• Communicate effectively and provide age appropriate care to adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
• Demonstrate appropriate judgment and emotional stability when encountering stressful situations; de-escalate patients using approved techniques.
• Facilitate and supervise patient groups of an educational or supportive purpose; encourage participation in milieu activities.
• Demonstrate accurate and timely documentation for all patient care provided through charting.
• Assist with admissions by checking in patient belongings and gathering their belongings upon discharge.
• Maintains a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
