The Mental Health Center (MHC) in Minneapolis, MN seeks a Psychiatrist Supervisor with leadership experience to oversee the medical program and deliver outpatient psychiatric services within the CCBHC framework. The role includes supervising NPs and psychiatrists, guiding clinical quality, and coordinating care across a diverse patient population.

The position offers a hybrid work schedule after a probationary period, with a focus on equity, inclusion, and continuous quality improvement.

Qualificações

• Graduated from an accredited school of medicine with an M.D. degree; a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Completion of an approved internship and formal residency.
• Possession of a valid license to practice medicine issued by the State of Minnesota and eligibility for board certification in psychiatry.

Responsabilidades

• Manage the medical program to be in compliance with CCHBC guidelines.
• Provide ongoing assessment and treatment including prescribing medication to clients with mental illness, especially those with serious and persistent mental illness and persons with co-occurring substance use disorders (SUD).
• Provide psychiatric consultation/care coordination to other providers as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement efforts aimed at equity and disparity reduction.
• Supervise and support psychiatric nurse practitioners (NP) and psychiatrists (MD) by establishing performance expectations, overseeing service delivery, evaluating team and individual results, and providing feedback and coaching.
• Identify, lead, and manage clinic-wide initiatives related to clinical quality and best practices by developing goals and objectives, establishing work plans and timelines, monitoring progress, evaluating results, and developing organizational protocol, including a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQ)I plan, that strengthen the quality of medical care components and integrate effectively with primary care.
• Develop plans, policies, and procedures and evaluate outcomes for programs and services.
• Manage provider transfer requests by supporting client needs while prioritizing clinical quality and urgent lab requests in collaboration with nursing supervisor.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality medical and behavioral health care, including treatment for SUD within the CCBHC model, and provide guidance to support the integration and coordination of services.
• Provide leadership to further department-based strategies that align with county goals, mission and core values for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
