Pay $97,094.40 - $117,470.08 / year

Job Description
  • Req#: 4063602. Under general supervision, provide counseling, psychotherapy, case management, and treatment services in various settings.

This Psychiatric Social Worker II posting is to create a list for upcoming vacancies. Applicants interested in future opportunities should reapply monthly. The list remains active for one month, during which referred candidates may be considered for vacancies. The supplemental questions are crucial for filtering candidates. Positions may be in Ambulatory Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH), Custody Health Services, or Custody Behavioral Health Services. Please select preferred locations in the supplemental questions.

In PCBH, PSW IIs collaborate with medical staff to provide brief, solution-focused care for mild to moderate mental health needs, including crisis intervention. In Custody Health Services, services include medical, mental health, dental care for incarcerated individuals, and psychiatric inpatient care at the Main Jail. Juvenile Custody Health offers medical, mental health, and dental services for justice-involved youth. Candidates must pass a background check to work in secure facilities. Credentialing may be required prior to appointment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform intensive case management, counseling, psychotherapy, and treatment with patients and families.
  • Participate in evaluations and develop treatment plans.
  • May participate in group therapy.
  • Prepare social histories focusing on psycho-social factors.
  • Coordinate with staff and community agencies.
  • Participate in psychotherapy teams.
  • Explain social and emotional factors to clients, relatives, and groups; conduct educational sessions.
  • Evaluate new treatment techniques.
  • Refer patients to community resources.
Qualifications

Must possess and maintain licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California. Some positions require provider credentialing. Ability to travel and possess a valid California driver’s license. All employees are Disaster Service Workers and must complete training and be available for emergency deployment.
