UI Health is seeking a Patient Safety Attendant for the Adult Psychiatry unit in Chicago. The role is 0.5 FTE with a schedule of 7:00 AM–3:00 PM and rotating weekends; evenings shift.

This on-site position involves continuous observation and collaboration with the care team to ensure patient safety and a therapeutic environment. Responsibilities include one-to-one observation, behavioral checks, documentation in the EHR, and contributing to patient throughput and safety.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One (1) year lived experience in recovery and re-entry related to the position’s focus areas (e.g., incarceration, chronic health, mental/behavioral health, substance abuse).

Aufgaben

• Provides one-to-one observation and patient safety support across inpatient units and monitors patients with psychiatric, safety, or non-behavioral health risks.
• Performs 15-minute behavioral observation checks or camera observation when not providing ongoing observation.
• Develops rapport and therapeutic relationships to create a safe space for clients/peers to discuss struggles.
• Provides feedback to RN to enhance throughput from the emergency room to the psych department.
• Documents patient information in the EHR and participates in teamwork to achieve quality outcomes.
