Job summary

Great Oaks Recovery Center, LLC. is hiring an RN to provide nursing care to clients in an on-site behavioral health setting.

You will supervise LPNs/CNAs and other staff, develop individualized care plans, assess and reassess clients, and communicate with the interdisciplinary team. The role requires an RN license, at least one year of nursing experience in a clinical or behavioral health setting, and CPR/de-escalation certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing.
• One or more years’ nursing experience within clinical area of service preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery environment preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with psychotropic medications and medication administration procedures.
• Ability to apply nursing standards and practice within an acute psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates care by assessing physical and behavioral health needs of client, develops and implements nursing care plans, maintains medical records and educates clients and their families about various conditions.
• Assesses clients’ status on an ongoing basis and communicates findings to providers timely.
• Transcribes and reviews provider orders and ensures required elements are present.
• Administers medications accurately with at least two identifiers.
• Notifies providers of significant changes in status and changes in medical status regarding response to medications.
• Maintains accountability of administration, recording, and security of medications, including narcotics.
• Completes admission and discharge processes accurately.
• Confer with treatment team regarding client care.
• Provides education to clients, families, and co-workers about medication usage and rights.
