Job summary

Great Oaks Recovery Center is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide nursing care for clients in a behavioral health/addiction treatment setting. You will supervise LPNs and CNAs, develop care plans, and assess patients on an ongoing basis.

The role requires an RN license (Texas or compact), CPR, and de-escalation/restraint certification, with preferred experience in psychiatric care and medication administration. Onsite facility work is expected, with strong teamwork across treatment staff.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing.
• One or more years’ nursing experience in clinical settings; behavioral health experience preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery environments preferred.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and administration procedures.
• Ability to apply nursing standards in acute psychiatric settings.
• Valid RN license from state or compact state; CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required.”
• First aid may be required per state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assess and coordinate care by evaluating physical and behavioral health needs and developing care plans.
• Communicate findings with providers and interdisciplinary team; update medical records.
• Administer medications per orders with accurate patient identification.
• Document accurately; ensure proper handoffs and shift reports.
• Provide education to clients and families about medications and patient rights.
• Monitor patient acuity, census, and staffing; adjust coverage as needed.
• Ensure all nursing activities and documentation are complete per policy.
