Job summary

Community Services Group is seeking a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Associate in Harrisburg to support individuals in achieving recovery goals and to provide care within the Adult Mental Health Services Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program. The role reports to the Program Director and aligns with PRS ethics and rights. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.

– 4:30 p.m. Starting wage is $20.00 per hour, negotiable based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Associate’s degree with 1 year mental health direct service experience.
• CPS certification with 1 year mental health direct service experience.
• High school diploma with 2 years mental health/human services experience including 1 year direct care.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and/or complete initial and ongoing assessments of individuals.
• Develop, review, and ensure implementation of individual support plans.
• Assess, evaluate, and document individual performance.
• Identify abilities and strengths to help individuals reach their goals.
• Implement rehabilitation team decisions across program settings and contribute to team process.
• Facilitate group processes and activities within the program.
• Transport individuals to community-based activities.

Summary

The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Associate is responsible for assisting and supporting the individual in achieving their identified level of recovery. This position meets the regulation requirements of a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Worker. The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Associate reports directly to the Program Director. This position is part of our Adult Mental Health (MH) Services Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program in Harrisburg. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am - 4:30pm.

Wage Information

Starting wage: $20.00/hour, may be negotiable based on relevant experience

Job Description

• Coordinates and/or completes initial and ongoing assessments of individuals.
• Coordinates and/or develops, reviews, and ensures implementation of individual support plans.
• Assesses, evaluates, and documents individual performance.
• Assists individuals to identify their abilities, strengths, and assets and helps them to recognize these strengths and use them to achieve their goals.
• Implements rehabilitation team decisions in all program settings and contributes to the team process.
• Facilitates group process and activity within the program.
• Transports individuals to community based activities.
• Willing to learn and model the five principles of trauma informed care; safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness, and empowerment.
• Commitment to promote cultural, racial, language and gender access, diversity, equity and inclusion.
• Knowledge and the ability to comply with the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services (PRS) Code of Ethics and statements of rights.

Qualifications

This position requires one of the following combinations of education and experience:

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with academic concentration in an area relevant to the position;
• OR an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and one year work experience in mental health direct service;
• OR have a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) certificate and one additional year paid or volunteer work experience in mental health direct service;
• OR have a high school diploma or equivalency and 2 years work experience in human services which must include 1 year of mental illness direct care experience.

Additional Requirements Include

Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive a passenger van and accompany individuals into the community and provide support and assistance in interactions in the community while maintaining sensitivity to the rights and dignity of the individual.
